Day 7 - Brisbane!!!!!

In the morning we woke up at normal time to get ready to go to the Australia Zoo.  It has been the biggest dream of mine since I was little to meet Steve Irwin!  If I were older I would have married him!  Unfortunately he died from a stingray… the zoo is going to be the closest thing for me now.

It was suppose to take us 2 hours or less to drive there but traffic was so bad it took 3!  I tried to sleep in the car and Hari wanted to as well but that was never going to happen.

When we pulled into the parking lot I started having what I call a freak attack.  I couldn’t keep myself calm because I was so insanely excited to be there; I started to scare Hari I was freaking out so much.

Greatest moment of my life!!!!

Entering the zoo was even more exciting!  I couldn’t wait to see the crocodiles Steve was so fond of.  Hari though was hungry and we had to get burgers before we did much of anything.  The main show started at 12:30, which was just when we finished our burgers!

Turtle!!

Joined us for a burger.

The show was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time it went on.  There was a fantastic display of birds that flew over your head and the birds of prey were so cool, I was waiting for the crocs though.  When the biggest croc finally came out I had the urge to be right down with the keepers feeding it, don’t think they’d let me though.

Look at the giant croc!

It's a condor, not kidding

Biggest wing-spand I've seen!!

Hello there

Here we go!!!

SO CRAZY!

I want to do that!

And they snap shut with a loud clack!

We ventured around the WHOLE zoo, you’d be surprised how big it actually is and being in the boiling sun makes the walking much harder.  I made sure that I saw absolutely everything there was to see before we left the zoo almost 3 hours later.

Water lizard.

Kookaburra

Cassowary!

It's called a bear-cat but it's neither.

I'm sure you know what this is...

Piggies

The history of my dream man... hughhh.

We should have met, I would have fainted though.

<3

Just chillin with a too.

Red pandas!

RAWR!

Hari's favorite animal

A quick preview of Africa.

Look at that horn!

The cutest face ever.

My first wombat!!!!

Komodo dragon!

Native river otter.... feel right at home.

The ride to Brisbane was very upsetting for both of us… it was the last car ride we would have together for a VERY long time.  We do plan to see each other but not for years to come.  We stopped at a gas station and Hari came back into the car with a plush Dalmatian; I named it Hari just so I wont forget the adventures we had together, I don’t think I ever will.  I gave Hari a henna tattoo so he can remember me as well; I am a very unforgettable person though so I don’t think he will forget.

I got to my hostel, said goodbye to Hari and after that my evening was uneventful.  I went shopping for food, made a burger, met my roommates and then went to bed.  Felt so nice to sleep in an actual bed and have a warm shower for once, although I chose to have the water a bit cooler than usual; I am just so used to cold now.

Day 6 - Gold Coast round two!

In the morning we woke up feeling incredibly well rested!  We didn’t start our day though until 10.  I really wanted to go to this place called the Crystal Castle, it was all the way back near Byron Bay but we ended up doing it anyway.

Took us a long time to get there, or what seemed a long time but it was worth it.  There were magnificent crystals everywhere!  Most of them were giant amethyst geodes that always stood taller than me.  We ventured throughout the gardens all day long and then for lunch Hari bought Indian food from the restaurant in the garden.

Not the crystal castle, just a sand castle with crystals in it.

Walked the entire labyrinth.

My forest throne.

The ball is made from rose quartz.

Doorway to a new world.

Ganesha.

It was so good I could have had another plate, the food in India will be better though and I can’t wait for that.  When all was good we got in the car and headed to another Hare Krishna farm.

Mmmmmmmm!

It was so good I could have had another plate, the food in India will be better though and I can’t wait for that.  When all was good we got in the car and headed to another Hare Krishna farm.

Before we got there we stopped at a bank so I could make a withdrawal… I promise this will have relevance later on so remember it.

He liked Hari more than me.

Last photo together...

It was so good I could have had another plate, the food in India will be better though and I can’t wait for that.  When all was good we got in the car and headed to another Hare Krishna farm.

Before we got there we stopped at a bank so I could make a withdrawal… I promise this will have relevance later on so remember it.

All the way to the farm we went, it is much larger than the first one I visited but not less interesting.  We went to temple and walk around for a bit, we met a very nice peacock with beautiful feathers.  While we were sitting down and resting Hari got a phone call from the bank saying that they have his card… it was 4 and they closed at 5, it is an hour long drive back to the bank.

I told Hari we could make it and off we sped… literarily!  We made it there in 45 minutes with Hari’s driving skills.  Once he retrieved the card we went back to the farm for prayer.

I got to meditate for 10 minutes before going outside in the shade of a tree.  There was leftover lunch and coconut milk sitting on one of the tables so Hari and I ate that for a snack.  The milk was so sweet; I have never tasted something like that before!  Of course Hari mentioned that India will be much more amazing when I visit.

We visited the dairy part of the farm for a bit and the funniest thing happened!  As Hari and I were admiring a calf feeding the mother felt we were too close and charged towards us, I saw this coming and didn’t move so I could call her bluff.  Hari however didn’t see this coming; all he saw were a pair of horns coming towards him.  When he saw this he grabbed he and pretty much pushed me in front of the cow and ran in the other direction.  It scared me so much when he grabbed me my heart almost stopped!  After we both called down we were laughing hysterically, so much that we both started crying from laughing too hard.  I was happy to find out that if I was ever in danger Hari would push me in front and run; good to remember for the future.

That's the momma on the left.

The young bulls can't get enough attention from me.

My pants were so dirty from all the rubbing.

Once we were done here it was back home for dinner.  As it was our last night together we both decided to put on our best clothes and hit the town!  I put on my dress but not my heels; there was no need for them, it was raining too.

Hari took me to an Indian buffet… the food was soo good and I ate so much my stomach made me look pregnant.  The satisfaction I felt was too much; Hari got a slice of chocolate peanut butter cake as take-away, we planned to eat it in the car with wine.

My last night in the car was fantastic! I had sex all night long… just kidding!  The rain stopped just in time for us to open the back of the car up, drink wine and eat the cake.  You’re not allowed to have alcohol on the beach so Hari and I had to hide it whenever someone walked past and we laughed the whole time.

I tracked sand into my sleeping bag and most of the car but I didn’t care and Hari was in too good of mood from the wine to notice.
