After getting Wi-Fi for the first time in almost two days,
we headed to the lighthouse. The
drive wasn’t long at all, but the coast was stunning and I wish we could have
kept driving. The cliffs and tiny
islands were a beautiful mustard color; they were so worn away by the waves and
wind it almost looked like they had teeth and claws. The wind was so ridiculously strong it almost blew Sharon
and I right over, and the waves crashing against the rocks were ferocious. Rob brought us to the nesting place of
the fairy penguins; apparently when I come back for Christmas the baby penguins
should be learning how to swim!
Unfortunately I did not go to the current lighthouse; instead I stood on
the old foundations of the previous lighthouse. It was moved because the winds get so strong that the
lighthouse can’t handle the weather.
Sharon and I made three different types of pizzas for
dinner: a Tai pizza, cheese pizza, and a ricotta pizza. We all had ¼ of each pizza but by the
time the cheese pizza was ready we could only have a sliver each. I would say it was a very
successful pizza making night.
It is now 8:40pm… I have made it 40 min past my last
bedtime. My typing skills are
starting to take a turn for the worse because I keep spelling simple words like
bedtime wrong. It is a sign that
it’s past my bedtime… time to sleep.
Tata for now.
Yummm! I hope you're getting some ideas for pizza when you get home.
