Day 1

I woke up a couple times throughout the night but had no trouble falling back to sleep.  At 7:50 I could no longer sleep and just listened to Rob and Sharon get ready to go boating.  After breakfast and cleanup, Rob and Sharon took off for the boat at around 9:30.  I went straight for the beach.  It started to get sunny and warm right away.  Of course I was barefoot, and the sand felt so nice on my feet.  I wanted to go swimming, but the water seemed a bit too cold for that.  The whole beach was covered in different colors and kinds of seaweed.  I wanted Tim there so he could take really cool photos, and him and I could flip over the mounds of seaweed to see what was underneath.  I got to the giant rock meridian at one end of the beach and clamored along it finding the most beautiful shells ever!  Unfortunately, when I go to beaches I’m only allowed to take memories and leave footprints.  It is very hard to do.

Now it’s almost 1:00 and I am waiting for Sharon and Robin to return home so we can go out and take Kel (a.k.a Kelowna, their rescue dog) for a walk along the beach.  I’m starting to feel a bit lonely now though, wishing I had a few people here right now to keep me company.  On top of that I have no Wi-Fi so there is no way for me to talk to anyone at the moment.  I might go for a cold swim to shock myself out of my current low right now… or just bundle up and watch an episode or two of Pokémon: Johto Journeys!  I haven’t quite decided yet.

I decided on the swim… it was just what I needed to feel better.  After my swim Sharon had lunch ready and Rob had the towel waiting.  Not that it had really crossed my mind but Rob told me that I had just swum in fresh arctic water.  He said that if you look straight out to the horizon, you’d be starring at the arctic.  Now that lunch is done I’m feeling a bit tired, but it’s time for a walk and I can’t really wait to go on it.

During our long walk we found cuddle fish bones which we used to have a boat race with.  Sharon won... but I came in second place with my tiny cuddle fish boat.

Now we are off to see a lighthouse... not sure what its called though.

  1. I really wish I was there with you on the beach to get on all fours and poke at weird things together. Give your belly rolls a good scoop for me <3
