So today is the day I leave.

Sunday, 19 October 2014

The market was nice but a little tiny compared to the markets I am use to at home.  It continued to be a windy day even when the sun peaked through the clouds for a couple seconds.  Robs parents Janet and Mervin joined us for lunch at the beach house before we left.  Janet was telling me stories of my mom when she was in Australia and Mervin thinks it would be a good idea if the whole Brauckmann family came to visit.  Maybe in the future.

I was so tired after getting back from Port MacDonnell that I almost fell asleep as soon as I got to my bed.  After a little bit of rest we went for a hike up Mount Gambier.  Mount Gambier is more like a large hill; not like the mountains we have at home.  The mountain is a collapsed volcano with two lakes and a national park inside it.  I only know one of the lakes and that is blue lake (which is what I’ll be seeing today) and tomorrow night we are going to the national park!

We had leftovers for dinner, which is nothing interesting, but for dessert Sharon had prepared an ice cream cake.  It had several different layers of ice cream: chocolate cherries in cream, chocolate shaving ice cream, a caramel ribbon, mint ice cream all covered in a creamy chocolate.  I swear Sharon is going to make me fat before I leave Mount Gambier; I need a run desprately!

  1. Janet and Merv are wonderful...I'm glad you got a chance to meet them. It would be great to get back to see them. Sharon is an amazing cook...good thing you're only there for a short while!
