Almost there...

After not having a seat on the plane the sorted all the stuff out and I got the seat with extra legroom, I did get on the flight thank goodness!  I tried my best to sleep on the flight but sometimes I just wouldn’t have it.  Going through customs was a breeze except for the fact that I was scared they were going to find my stash of shells and feathers, they never did.

At the hotel I checked in of course but was told I had to check out at 12:30 even though I had paid for a late checkout.  I was too tired to argue and headed to my room where I unpacked and had a shower, after my lovely shower I went back down to reception to get 16 quarters for laundry.  I got the 9th floor and remembered I needed detergent that was in my bag, so back up to the 11th floor I went.  For the washer I was putting in 8 quarters one of them turned out to be a franc so I had to go back downstairs and get a different coin.  Finally when I had put my laundry on I went to my room to get some journaling done, Facebook and Snapchat might have distracted me.  When enough time had passed I went to put my laundry in the dryer and then back upstairs I went except the elevator I chose didn’t have a functional 11th floor button, so poor old me had to walk up a flight of stairs.  I did more journaling and uploaded photos for my blog so they would be ready when I was done typing.  I figured my laundry was dry and went to go retrieve it but discovered that it was still really damp, I went back to my room to get money, down to reception, then back to the laundry room and finally back to my room.  I felt like I had ridden the elevators and walked up stairs than anyone in the hotel by this point.  I ended up putting my laundry on one more time before I was satisfied with its dryness level.  I was so happy to get organized and pack my things.

I checked out, put my things in storage and went to go find food along the beach to each.  I walked for 15 minutes before leaving the gorgeous white sands and crystal turquoise waters to find food on the street.  You would not believe the amount of malls they have on the street here in Guam.  I chose one of the dozen along the rode and had really good sushi.  The restaurant had Wi-Fi so I got to talk to everyone, especially my mumma.  When I told I checkout of my room because they said someone else was checking into it she got in quite the tiff.  I can proudly say my mother gave the hotel quite the talking too; I got my room back and a free shuttle to the airport.

I got back to my room, had another shower and fell fast asleep on the bed while my music played right next to my head.  I had a dream that I drooled so much I made a river of it that flowed out of my bed and onto the floor… I only made a very large puddle in the palm of my hand.  I pulled myself out of bed and got myself downstairs and to the shuttle bus in time.

The whole airport thing went very smoothly except for the part where I forgot about my pocketknife… they didn’t get mad but I almost cried when I had to give it up.  I lost a very loyal knife that day, my favorite one too, now I have an excuse to get another!

I uploaded one more blog before boarding my flight, now my journey will finally continue!

I stayed awake the whole flight and whipped through customs… I got another stamp added to my passport!  At the exit I was met by Larry, the driver to the hostel I stay at.  We talked the whole way but I was so excited to be in Palau I started tearing up in the car, this is the place I was meant to end up in.  Even though everything was really dark I could just feel the islands and how awesome my time here would be.

We arrived at the hostel and I was so happy to see that it was really well kept.  The kitchen is huge and everything is very clean.  I even have a six-bed dorm to myself, I love the bunk beds so much!!!!!

I’ll spare you the details of my nightly routine but I was so happy to go to sleep with the fan blowing and the excitement of diving that awaited tomorrow!
