I slept in today and did not put proper clothes on until 2
in the afternoon; you might be wondering what I was doing in this time…Skyping
mom and dad. Before I did anything
I needed food and headed to a local sushi place to fill my stomach. When I got back I got my laundry
together finally and headed to the Laundromat. On the way there these little boys, probably 6, asked me
where I was from and then said that their heart hurt just looking at me and
that Canada was the place to live.
I couldn’t stop smiling until I got my laundry in the washing
machine. I watched Pokémon while
my laundry washed and dried and tried to do some journaling but it was just way
to humid and I wasn’t wearing underwear.
I was very happy to get clean underwear on. Packing when I got back home was a breeze because I am a pro
packer now! I was getting a bit
hungry though so I had to go back to the store to buy more nacho chips cause
someone(s) had eaten them all last night, I blamed Marcello.
Finally I did some souvenir shopping… took me almost an hour
to find a place that sold shot glasses from Palau but I did it. Now I have a shot glass with a cute
sparkling green turtle on it. I
got some Palauan stickers to ad to my laptop collection as well.
I got back home, paid my bills, and did lots of packing
before I had more nachos for dinner.
My bag was packed pretty well and I am very happy how I managed to store
everything in my bag. Shower time
was a necessary and then I crawled into bed for a nap before I had to be out
the door by 1 am.
Getting up at midnight was a bit difficult but I was excited
to be starting a new part of my adventure. I’ll skip the drive and go straight to the airport… it was
mayhem! Everyone that works at the
airport is on island time and is in no rush even if everyone else is. I waited forever to get my ticket and
had to wait in a 50-minute line to pay a green fee and exiting tax. It was honestly the most difficult
experience I have had at an airport before. I was very relieved that I made my flight on time and was
even happier that I was starting the next leg of my journey.
As we took off a said goodbye to Palau, a country I had
fallen in love with.
