Of course in the morning Pranav did not want to wake up so I chilled out on the patio and did some meditating. Wasn’t long before Snow couldn’t keep away from me and then Karuna came out to pay a visit. I drank chai tea while she showed me her 833 photos on her phone, loved every one of them. Finally it was time to wake up Pranav, which took some time but it finally happened. The family sat down for breakfast and I had Indian food AGAIN for my first meal, I am in absolute heaven when I get Indian for every meal.
Snow is just as lazy as my babies.
Today Karuna is taking me shopping so when breakfast was done I put my jeans on and we headed out! We started at a mall called Phoenix; on the drive there we passed some slums and I saw women washing their clothes in the river and each house was made from tin roofing.
'
The first store we stopped at was Mango but we just looked and didn’t get anything there, next was Zara! I knew things here are much too expensive back at home but they were reasonably priced here and Karuna wanted to find me a sweater or jacket for the north. She ended up buying me a knee length, thick grey sweater that zips up and it is the softest thing ever! I may never take it off. Next store we went was for shoes and I noticed that at stores for women you find more men working then women, the men put the shoes on our feet for us; felt like a princess. I bought myself a beautiful pair of blue sequin shoes; I wanted to put them on right then! Off to a clothing store we went to get actual Indian clothes. All of them were so beautiful but so expensive… I’ve gotten good at converting money.

Excited for shopping!
After dress shopping we left the mall and headed for some lunch at a favorite of Karuna… we used only our fingers the whole time and the food was incredible. We walked over to another small area called Wonderland that sells jewelry Karuna wanted me to see. Everything was so beautiful, I got a pair of earrings and silver anklets that all the women wear…I also got my nose pierced. I grabbed Pranav’s hand and squeezed as tight as I could, a giant pinch is all it was and then I had my new piercing! I got a few new studs to put in it and they only cost 75 cents… my piercing cost $2, how crazy is that! I don’t know how I managed but I got Pranav to pierce his ear as well, Karuna and I couldn’t stop laughing after his ear got pierced.
Piercing buddies.
After shopping we got dropped off at a friends house where we just chilled and talked about where I’ve been and where I am going. After a time we drove back home and got ready to go see the Hobbit!!! I have yet to see the new one so this is pretty special for me.
At the theatre I got to eat samosas and caramel popcorn… since when do you get samosas at a movie theatre? I’ll spare you most of the details of me watching the movie but I will tell you that I cried a lot when some of my favorite characters died… such a traumatic experience for me!
When the movie was done we caught a rickshaw, the classic three-wheeler you see driving people around in India. The India experience isn’t complete unless you drive into oncoming traffic and that’s just what we did for a good minute… it was AWESOME!
On coming traffic...
I was very happy to get to my bed that night after an exhausting day of shopping in India…
