In the morning I put on my new purple dress and readied
myself for another day in Pune. I
had a spicy omelet for breakfast, didn’t even know that was possible, and then
headed out the door with Pranav to do some walking. We walked down this one very long street filled with cars,
covered in dirt and the sidewalks were half broken and non-existent. Here, a person with fair skin is of
much fascination and I was constantly being looked at, I always smile at
everyone now. Pranav got us lost a
few times but we managed to make to the place he wanted to take me to, a hookah
café. On our way there we ran into
a little boy with really long whip that made it seem like he was hurting
himself and then would ask for money… it was one of those things that was hard
to ignore. Karuna was telling me
that some of the beggar women use dead babies to make you feel guilty, it’s a
little messed up over here and makes you think not everything is as beautiful
as home. Things are very different here but I still think it is an amazing
place to visit. We sat down at a
table with all his buddies; they spoke Hindi so I had no clue what was being
said. I sat quietly while I ate my
paneer burger and zoned out at times… Pranav would notice and then start
bugging me. This was the first
time I got to smoke a hookah and it was so different, the smoke was very smooth
and it tasted like blueberries… I kind of want one for home. We stayed here and talked with his
buddy before leaving to a new destination.
Ohhh yesss
At a park we met up with some other buddies and chilled in
the sun on the benches, I love soaking up the sun. Wasn’t long before we took off again but this time for the
movie store! We got I am Legend
and Because I Told You So because I cant stand to watch a scary movie and not
see something funny after. I
clenched a pillow the whole time during the scary movie and Karuna just laughed
at me as well as Pranav. I
couldn’t wait to put in the nice movie and calm my nerves, coincidently enough
Karuna said she was thinking about this exact movie a few days ago; she said it
was a sign. I cuddled up to a
pillow and watched a movie about finding love; I get so giddy when I watch
these kinds of movies… I just love Love.
Pranav fell asleep so it was just Karuna and I watching the movie for
sometime. When the movie finished
I had and shower and got ready to go out for dinner and see a movie about
Steven Hawkings, I actually like movies like this. My stomach was bugging me a bit today so I didn’t eat much
for dinner even though it tasted amazing!
At this restaurant you could make your own stirfry… mine tasted
divine! I had mushrooms, cottage
cheese, tofu, noodles, and some other vegetables that I don’t know what they
are, all in a lime, ginger, and spring onion sauce.
We headed off to our movie and I bundled myself up in my new
sweater… the movie was really good but somehow I ended up falling asleep and
maybe started snoring. Everyone laughed
at me when I woke up. After the
movie Karuna and Sunil gave me the choice of going to a party or going home… I of
course chose home and collapsed on my bed the moment I got home.
Another great day in Pune!
