Bye Pranav...

Today is a sad day… Pranav leaves for a college trip and it is also my last day in Pune, tomorrow will be a very sad day.  I went up stairs to wake Pranav and after a few attempts he finally did but then went back to sleep, no surprise there.  I went back to my room and started packing everything I could, I love to pack but it was depressing knowing that I was leaving my new home so soon.  I had gotten most of my packing done before Pranav was even out of bed.  Karuna told me that it was even worse when it came to packing for the diving trip to the Caribbean.  I got a box of things ready to send home and then I ate French toast for breakfast!  Karuna and I went through all the things that her and I had bought at the market last night and went through a bunch of photo albums of the family.  I got to see pictures of her honeymoon to Australia, baby photos of Pranav and lots of old and new family photos.  Felt like I was right at home going through photos with my mum. 

Soon enough it was time to head to the train station to say goodbye… I have no idea where the time has gone since I first arrived here.  Pranav had lunch and then we were off.  The drive there all I could think about was all the cool things that Pranav and I have done together since we first met almost 2 years ago on the other side of the world.  A little crazy that we managed to stay friends this long, I guess once two dinosaurs meet they become best friends for life.  Pranav got out of the car and said goodbye, I leaped out of the car and wrapped my arms around him.  I told him that I was going to miss him so much, he told me that we are just going to have to see each other again.  I didn’t want to let go but I knew I had too.  I watched my Dino buddy head to the station as we drove away back for home.  I rested my head on Karuna’s shoulder for some of the car ride feeling awfully sad.

 At home Karuna and I ate lunch, again with our fingers!  I am getting pretty good at it.  It wasn’t long after eating that we took a nap in the daybed outside, took me awhile to get to sleep but I finally hugged a pillow and closed my eyes.  Sunil’s aunt and uncle came over for a visit, the aunt is from America and her and I raved about Trader Joes and Chipotle… those have got to be the food things I miss about home and poutine.  They didn’t stay for long and soon Karuna and I were getting ready to go out for dinner… my last dinner in Pune.  We sat and watched TV as a family before we went out for dinner.

We went to a very small and quite restaurant for dinner, Sunil got sushi, Karuna got a sandwich and I got pizza.  A very random combination of food I think.  For dessert we went to a place called the German Bakery!  After little thought I got a strawberry cheesecake and Karuna got lemon cake and a cappuccino.  Everyone enjoyed the others dessert tonight and for a change a wasn’t tired.  I was excited to be spending time with Sunil and Karuna, even if we had food in our mouths most of the time.

At home we went straight to bed… tomorrow I leave for Delhi.
