Azooz and his buddy Barri are taking me to the Blue
Mountains today, which means my alarm was set for 7:15. With the events that happened last
night I did not want to get up at all but the mountains awaited!
After a 30 min train ride to Parramatta I was met by Azooz
who took me to meet his University friends and then to his flat to get his
brother Barri. If the flat wasn’t
such a mess I would have said it was pretty nice… but there were shoes
everywhere and the floor was in need of a vacuum. It is shared with 4 other guys so I don’t blame him for the
state it was in.
When Barri was finally ready the three of us loaded into the
car and set off for the incredible Blue Mountains. I was super tired on the drive up but Barri kept talking to
me and the music was so loud the speakers almost blew. I had no problem finding the energy to
get along with the rest of my day, which is always a good thing.
Barri says he has been to the mountains so many times before
and knows the aboriginal story behind the Three Sisters; they are three rock
pillars right next to one another.
I don’t know why they are called the Blue Mountains but they are
beautiful none-the-less.
The Three Sisters.

So Beautiful!
The Falls.
This little dude took an interest in me.
After the Three Sisters we drove to the fun center or
whatever it is called. There are
multiple things you can do here; ride a cute little train, take Australia’s
longest tram and the steepest tram.
I picked the longest tram and got an incredible view of the waterfall as
well as the mountains themselves.
At the other side of the tram we had to find our way back to
the car via a nature walk, I didn’t mind this one bit. The only nature part of it was at the
beginning, where we spent a good half hour standing in front of the waterfall
and taking pictures of each other.
Barri was the photographer and Azooz was the model; the pictures that
were being taken were absolutely hilarious! Azooz took his shirt of and kept posing on different rocks
flexing different muscles and Barri would say, “No, no you need to look like
this”. I was beside myself with
laughter.
After the incredible waterfall photo shoot we made our way
back to the car; it was a long walk and very hot outside.
I was very happy to make our way home when I got into the
air-conditioned car. On our way
home Azooz and Barri noticed two hitchhikers on the side of the road, they made
a U-turn and picked them up. They
say they do it all the time as long as the people look nice. The hitchhikers were German and French
couple that was making their way to Canberra. We didn’t talk much to them though, only listened and sang
to music.
Instead of going home I was brought back to their flat,
where I proceeded to make pasta for lunch. The sauce had broccoli, mushrooms, black beans, onions,
green pepper, carrots and lots of spices.
It tasted so good and everyone was pleased I made so much of it too.
For the rest of the day we played PS3 games with the
university students and sat outside on the balcony and talked.
At 5:30 I was dropped off at the train station and made my
way home. Hanging with them was
really fun and I can’t wait to go clubbing with them tomorrow.
Back in the room Niahm, Sydney, and I had the craving for
food and headed out to get some. I
felt like such a fatty when I bought to bags of chocolates, a doughnut, bananas
and coconut water.
Other than that my night was un-eventful.
