Manly Beach.

Today a special market was open that sells really cheap produce, of course that is where I went and spent my morning.  The market was so cool, there was food of course and very cheap clothes and jewelry.  Back home I went and got ready for my trip to Manly beach.

Food.

Spices.

This is going to sound a bit complicated but a friend back in Melbourne has a friend in Sydney and said if I ever need anything to just call him.  He called me and decided it would be fun to go to Manly beach for the day and that’s exactly what we did.

His name is Azooz and he picked me up straight from the hostel and we drove down to the beach, which was really nice.  We parked quite a ways from the beach but walking along a scenic path was absolutely gorgeous.

When we got to the beach it was towels down and sunscreen on, somehow I always manage to fall asleep on the beach… I don’t know why.  After a few hours of sunning ourselves it was time for a quick dip and then some lunch.

Azooz bought nachos for himself and I so I felt obligated to buy ice cream.  Food is absolutely divine… I can’t get enough of it.

Azooz lost the car… good thing I have a great sense of direction and was able to find our way back.  It was quite entertaining walking back and him admitting that he is following and has no idea where we are.  We did make our way back to the car thankfully and headed home.

It was 5 when I got dropped off at the hostel and it took Azooz an hour and a bit to get home… it would normally take 30 minutes but the traffic was so bad.

For dinner I made two veggie burgers and Sydney ate the other.  She is just getting over a cold and I felt the need to be a mother and take care of her.  The burgers were absolutely delicious and I was so proud of my creation…. Even Sam the kitchen Nazi said my burger looked good.

Sydney enjoys my cooking.

After dinner I chilled out in my room until some event coordinators came to the door handing out neon green wristbands… and telling us about free goon in the kitchen.  Goon is really really cheap wine that gets you drunk fast and tastes disgusting.  I decided that Zack was going to be my drinking partner tonight and there was nothing he could do about it.

We headed down to the kitchen together and prepared ourselves mentally and physically for the stomach pains we might get.  Glasses of goon later I decided that one of my Asian pears looked good enough to eat and might settle our stomachs.  After the pear it was back to the room quickly to grab a hoodie and talk to the others.  Once the many conversations were over Zack and I headed down into the bar (free entry) for some free beer and lots of music.  We pretty much danced the whole night away!  I was going to enter a bikini contest that would have won me $300 but I didn’t make it in-time, what a disappointment because I would have won too.

At the end of the night, which was around 1:30, the both of us headed back upstairs, got our jammies on and then sat and talked in the hall for what seemed forever.  When both of us were way to tired to keep the conversation going we went to bed, never have I loved a hostel bed so much.
